Maruti Suzuki’s latest premium SUV, the Victoris, has cleared its first real-world mileage test, delivering results that go beyond the company’s initial claims. According to the official figures, the Victoris achieved 21.8 km/l with the mild-hybrid petrol variant and 27.3 km/l with the strong-hybrid variant—positioning it as one of the most fuel-efficient SUVs in its class.
The test was conducted under standard mixed driving conditions, including city traffic and highway runs. While the strong-hybrid variant clearly stood out, even the petrol mild-hybrid’s mileage was higher than several competing models in the market.
The Victoris also impressed with its driving dynamics. Reviewers noted a smooth power delivery, responsive steering, and efficient regenerative braking in the hybrid version. The SUV’s lightweight Heartect platform and aerodynamic design have contributed significantly to its fuel efficiency numbers.
With these results, the Victoris is expected to strengthen Maruti Suzuki’s dominance in the hybrid SUV market, giving it a clear edge over rivals like Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder and Honda Elevate Hybrid.
The mileage advantage, coupled with Maruti Suzuki’s extensive service network, could make the Victoris a popular choice among Indian buyers prioritizing both performance and economy.
